Quick Preview: Sun Belt Conference

Our conference quick previews are just quick predictions for the all-conference teams and the conference standings. If you came here looking for a deep analysis on each team, you’ve came to the wrong place. We’re too lazy to do that 🙂

We’ve highlighted some of the smaller conferences that have been giant killer in March and here’s another one. In 2015, RJ Hunter hit a 3 from Mars to give Georgia State an upset win over Baylor. Then last season, Josh Hagins and Little Rock stunned Purdue. This league always has at least one really good team and that’s the case again this year. UT Arlington is the hands down favorite to win the league, as they return literally everyone from a team that won 24 games last year. Kevin Hervey, who nearly averaged a double-double last season. After the Mavericks, Georgia Southern looks like a team to watch as they also return all 5 starters. Then there’s a lot of questions. UALR returns 3 starters but lost Josh Hagins and coach Chris Beard. Georgia State has some intriguing talent, but is unproven. Either way, if UT Arlington is as good as it looks like they’ll be, it might not matter what happens behind them.
